If you ever run into the problem that a VMWare virtual machine refuses to respond this is what you can try:
1.- Go to the Virtual machine menu on VMWare Fusion and Select Sut Down.

If this doesn't help do the next:
1.- Open the Activity Monitor in Applications / Utilities

2.- Select VMWare Fussion and hit the Quit Process button and then Force Quit
3.- Go to the directory where the Virtual machine is located and select "Show Package Contents"

4.- Locate all the folders that end in .lck and the file that ends in .nvram and delete them.
5.- Restart you computer.
